Sofi Mkheyan was born on the 8th of April 1984, in Yerevan, the capital of the Republic of Armenia. She went to the secondary school №13 after Telman, graduated from the piano class at the musical school after Sayat-Nova, then started singing at the “Do Re Mi” school-studio. Afterwards, she graduated from the piano class at the musical college after Romanos Meliqyan, then received her bachelor's and master's degrees in vocal jazz at the Yerevan State Conservatory after Komitas. 

While being a student Sofi already had a huge fan base in her native country, was performing as a solo artist at the State Theater of Song, and was taking part in various song contests.

Her first music video was filmed for the song called “Im Enker”, then she dropped the music vidoes of the songs “Ser”, “Nayir im achqerin”, “Ore yev Nerkan”, “Arjani e” (a duet with Sirusho), “Vortegh Gtnem”, “Luys Khavarum (later on its remix version), “Petq Ches”, “Janachir”, "Karoti yeraz”, ”Hajakh Jpta”,”Uzum em Khosel”, “Mama”, “2012”, “Hayastani Yerge”, “Yerazum".

Sofi won the nomination for the “Revelation of the Year” (Best New Comer Award) during the National Music Awards in 2015 .

Sofi Mkheyan’s first album “Kyanke Qo” was released in 2017. It got its name based on the song “Kyanke Qo” written by Sofi. She introduced the music video for “Ore yev nerkan” later that year that won the nomination for the “Hit of the year” during the National Music Awards, then her first album won the nomination for the “Best pop album of the year” during “Anush” Awards in the USA.

Sofi has appeared repeatedly on local (and not only) magazines and publications , such as "El-Style”, “Yes!”, “BOOM”, “Joker”, “Prestige”, “Nane”, “MIX”, “Alma Times and Alma Magazine”, and so on.

Being not only a talented and a popular singer, Sofi Mkheyan has also participated in numerous sport projects. She took part in a celebrity tennis championship and won the first prize, then, in 2009, participated in “Fort Boyard” game show, and amazed everyone with her demonstrated sporting ability and courage.

Her second album called “Luys Khavarum” was released in 2009.

The period from 2009-2011 was rich in awards for Sofi: she won the nomination for the “Best modern pop singer” during the annual Armenian Music Awards held in the US in 2009, then she won the nomination for the “Best female singer of the year” during the annual “Tashir” awards in Moscow in 2010, and, last but not least, won the nomination for the “Best female singer of 2010” during the annual Armenian National music Awards in 2011 in Yerevan.

Sofi Mkheyan took part in various group concerts and toured as in Armenia and Artsakh, as well as in Iran, Russia, the Czech Republic, France, Belgium, Italy, Netherlands, China, Argentina, Brazil and the USA.

Her third album called “2012” was released in 2012.

In 2012 and 2017 Sofi Mkheyan was a coach at the Voice of Armenia.

Sofi dropped a new song and music video “Hamadzayn em” in 2015.

Sofi Mkheyan together with Viden Hovsepyan introduced a new song and music video called “Mi Qich”, which later won the nomination for the “Best duet of the year”, then she dropped the renewed version of Tigran Chukhajyan’s “Leblebijinieri Khmberg”.

In 2018, Sofi Mkheyan introduced a couple of new compositions such as “Chem uzum”, “Rehan” (together with its music video), as well as “Tesilq”. The director of the music video of “Tesilq” is Sofi, the lead role is played by Nazeni Hovhannisyan. Later that year “Rehan” won the nomination for the “Best song of the year” during the annual music awards in Sochi. 

Since 2015, Sofi Mkheyan has been a producer of individual performers and various television projects.
